Our household was loaded in Kitchener on Mar. 22 with a 7-21 business day delivery window. The movers were an hour and a half later than promised on the day of loading. Our household arrived at our new home on April 24th at about 4:30 PM. You can do the math on whether or not it was within the promised window. Two gentlemen arrived to unload (they were great!), but trying to unload an entire 3 bedroom house after 5pm is nothing short of ridiculous! Our 65″ TV was smashed! It was packed in a TV box with foam padded corners and an abundance of extra protection around the TV. Our aluminum patio table was also irreparably broken and our outdoor fireplace cover was torn when it arrived at our new place. Our light grey couch was stained with grease and we’re missing an aluminum step-ladder. Upon informing the moving company of our damages, we were offered $150.00 to settle.
Throughout the MONTH it took to get our belongings, we reached out several times to Jesse Betts, and were treated like children. He was incredibly non-responsive and made us feel like we were unreasonable for asking for updates on where our stuff was or when we could expect to see it. I would NEVER use this company again nor would I recommend it to anyone else!!
Their claim that our TV was not adequately protected is absolutely false. It was completely protected in each corner, and back and front were padded fully inside the box (that the movers recommended).
One last note… they have since refused to pay the unrealistically low settlement of $150.00 unless we recant this review… Let that sink in!
Jesse Betts appears to be the sales manager, the person named in the most complaints.
According to a web search for Jesse Betts, he likely currently works for or owns Grand River Moving as well. The most recent review mentioning his name for that company is April 7, 2024.
Confrontational
Unreliable
Avoidant
It's strange this day in age that there is almost no information online about Jesse Betts; he may have hidden his life from public eyes because of all of the complaints against him
An Interesting Connection!
According to the Better Business Bureau, the owner of Good ol' Boys, Darjan Tunic, is also the owner of Grand River Moving and Movers Ontario.
